IMAT practice tests under real exam conditions.

Timed simulations with the real IMAT marking scheme: +1.5 for a correct answer, −0.4 for a wrong one, 0 for a blank. Marks per section as soon as you submit. Built by IMATquest, IMAT tutors in Rome.

  • The timer runs on the server. It cannot be paused.
  • Answers save as you go. Lose connection and you rejoin where you left off.
  • Marks per section and accuracy per topic, straight after you submit.

How it works

1

Enter your access code

Your tutor gives you a code for each test. No account, no password, nothing to install.

2

Read the briefing before the clock starts

You see the paper pattern, section order, marking scheme and rules first. The timer starts when you press Start.

3

Sit the timed exam

Answer, flag questions to review, move between sections. Submit and your score appears with marks per section.

Scored like the real IMAT

+1.5 Correct−0.4 Wrong0 Blank

Negative marking changes how you sit the paper. A blind guess costs marks. A guess after eliminating two options usually pays. Practising under the real scheme, with the timer on the server like on test day, is what makes a mock worth doing. Your results show accuracy per topic, so you know where the next mark will come from.

Frequently asked questions

What is the IMAT?

The IMAT (International Medical Admissions Test) is the English-language admission exam for medicine and surgery programmes taught in English at Italian public universities. It is multiple choice, strictly timed and negatively marked, which is why practising under real conditions matters.

What happens if my internet drops during a test?

Nothing is lost. Every answer saves to the server the moment you pick it, and the clock runs on the server too. Reopen the page and you rejoin where you left off, with the correct time remaining.

How is my score calculated?

With the official IMAT scheme unless your tutor sets a custom one: +1.5 points per correct answer, −0.4 per wrong answer, 0 for a question left blank. Your results screen shows the arithmetic per section.

How do I get an access code?

Codes come from your tutor or prep course. Each test has its own. If you are preparing for the IMAT and don't have a tutor yet, visit imatquest.org.

Can I retake a test?

That depends on your tutor. Each test has its own retake limit. Mock exams are usually one sitting, like the real IMAT. Practice sets often allow several attempts.

What device should I use?

Any modern browser on a laptop, tablet or phone. For mock exams we recommend a laptop, since it is closest to the test centre.

Can I review my answers afterwards?

When your tutor enables solutions, you can go through every question after submitting, see your answer against the key with explanations, and download the paper as a PDF.
